Mate Rimac’s fascination with electric vehicles began when he converted an old BMW into an electric car as a hobby project. This experience ignited a passion in him for creating high-performance electric vehicles, and he began to experiment with building his own electric sports car. In 2009, he founded Rimac Automobili with the goal of creating the ultimate electric supercar.

The first prototype of the Rimac Concept One was unveiled in 2011 at the Frankfurt Motor Show, where it immediately drew attention for its futuristic design and impressive performance capabilities. It could accelerate from 0-60 mph in just 2.5 seconds, and had a top speed of 220 mph. The car also boasted a range of 310 miles on a single charge, an impressive feat for an electric vehicle.

The success of the Concept One led Rimac to develop a second-generation model, the C_Two, which was unveiled in 2018 at the Geneva Motor Show. The C_Two takes the performance of the Concept One to the next level, with a staggering output of 1,914 horsepower and a top speed of 258 mph. It can also accelerate from 0-60 mph in just 1.85 seconds, making it one of the fastest production cars in the world.

  4. As with any new technology, there will always be bumps in the road and setbacks along the way. What’s important is that companies like Rimac continue to innovate and push forward, while also taking responsibility for any issues that arise. Ultimately, it’s up to consumers to decide whether they want to take a chance on a newer, less-established brand like Rimac. But I believe that as electric and autonomous cars become more mainstream, companies like Rimac will play an important role in shaping the future of transportation.

  5. Wow, your article on Rimac Cars was a wild ride! I had heard some things about the company before, but I had no idea they were involved in such a scandal. It’s amazing to see how they were able to turn things around and come out on top.

Honestly, I’m blown away by the engineering that went into those electric vehicles. Setting speed records is no joke, and it’s clear that the rimac team is filled with some seriously talented people.

But at the same time, it’s important to recognize the controversies surrounding the company. I’m glad to see that they were held accountable for their actions, and hopefully they’ll be more transparent and ethical in the future.I think this story is a great reminder that innovation isn’t always easy or straightforward. We need to celebrate the achievements, but also be aware of the potential pitfalls. Thanks for sharing such an interesting article!

  6. When you do something, the problem is that everyone shouts that we could have done it too if we wanted to… And as for “Bugatti”, the company that has failed countless times, the former owner immediately claimed they had made a mistake by buying “Bugatti”, so Mr. Rimac didn’t really come out that well. The advantage is that the state and sponsors are immediately behind him, if it will make you feel any better, even “Ferrari” has failed, long ago… So anything is possible.

  7. You should come to Croatia and ask people what they think of him and his dad. Complete fraud and rip off
