IAW4.xx IMMO OFF Tool v1.2 – VAG Magneti Marelli IAW ECUs

IAW4.xx IMMO OFF Tool v1.2 is a lightweight, file-based immobilizer OFF utility designed specifically for Magneti Marelli IAW engine control units used in VAG vehicles (Volkswagen Group).
The application works directly on ECU dumps and provides model-specific IMMO OFF handling through a simple dropdown interface.

This tool is intended for professional ECU repair, replacement, and recovery scenarios where immobilizer data must be disabled due to ECU damage, EEPROM corruption, or key/cluster mismatch.

Supported IAW ECU families (as shown in the application)

The tool supports the following Magneti Marelli IAW ECU variants, selectable from the built-in dropdown menu:

• IAW 4LV / 4ML

• IAW 4HV / 4TV

• IAW 4AV / 4CV
  (IMMO handled via diagnostic line – pin 19)

• IAW 4MV

The application automatically adapts its IMMO OFF logic based on the selected ECU family.

How the tool works (application logic)

• Load an ECU dump file using Load from File

• Select the correct IAW ECU type from the dropdown list

• The program checks immobilizer status

• If IMMO is detected as ON, the tool disables immobilizer data

• A new modified file is generated and saved separately (original file remains untouched)

No flashing or ECU communication is performed by the software itself — it works purely on dump files.

EEPROM & IMMO handling details

Depending on the ECU type, immobilizer handling differs:

IAW 4LV

• VIN number is displayed inside the program

• PIN code is shown

• No physical IMMO line cut required

IAW 4AV / 4CV / 4HV / 4TV

• Immobilizer is linked to pin 19 (IMMO / diagnostic line)

• Recommended options:

  • Cut IMMO line from pin 19

  • Connect diagnostic line to OBD pin 7

  • OR apply EEPROM write protection

This behavior is clearly indicated inside the application itself, matching real-world ECU wiring logic.
