The EDC17C60 and EDC17C10 ECU is a Bosch engine control unit that is fitted to some Peugeot and Citroen models mostly with the 1.6 BlueHDI engine. It has a tuning protection system that prevents unauthorized modifications to the engine parameters.
Some tools, such as PCM Tuner and PCM Flash, can read and write the these ECUs via BENCH or BOOT modes. However, these tools may not automatically remove the TPROT flags from the ECU file when writing it back to the ECU. This can cause problems such as DTCs (diagnostic trouble codes), limp mode, or start inhibit after a few engine cycles.
To avoid these problems, you need to manually edit the TPROT flags in the ECU file before writing it back to the ECU. This requires some knowledge and skills in hex editing and ECU programming. Alternatively, you can download and use our free software tool that can automatically remove the TPROT flags from the those ECUs. However, you should always be careful when modifying the ECU data and make sure you have a backup of the original file in case something goes wrong.
Works 100%
